Looking through the window

I have been inspired by this post at the Sophia Network. It seems an obvious thing doesn’t it –
“individuals are inclined to look in the mirror, and appoint in their image, rather than look through the window and recognise the diversity of the work environment.”
Not just in the work environment, but everywhere – don’t we all judge people in relation to ourselves? Don’t we all assume peoples motivations for doing something, saying something are the same as ours?
We constantly look in the mirror. And because of this we are in danger, just like Narcissus, to waste away, loosing life as it gets smaller and smaller until it is only the size of our own reflection.
But we have on offer life to the full.
I wonder what it means for us today to look through the window?
