#352 – Defiant

Though the winter still clasps her hands

our bones chilling at her touch.

Though the dark in my mind

would love to swallow me in doubt

I remain defiant.

For the spring comes,

she opens flowers

and sets off honey bees,

so in this year I choose

to open the door

to sweet sunlight

and grasp hope over fear.

It's as true as ever
