Today’s #poem More than a job
It nearly killed me
All that rich veneer
Filled to the brim
With hypocrisy.
Just where there
Should have been peace
There was war
And I wasn’t the only casualty.
They say it is more than a job
They say it is a calling
And they are right.
Which is why
It can cost you everything
When in place of love
There is selfish gain
Or just selfishness
Cursing the light
And crippling the foot soldiers
Sometimes all you can do
Is dessert.
